From the early sixties Britain has nurtured the finest blues guitarists including legends such as Peter Green, Jimi Hendrix. Andy Preston’s guitar playing has been likened Peter Green, Eric Clapton , Albert and Freddie King.  Here is an example of Andy playing the classic Stormy Monday Blues

South Wales is a great place for guitarists, with plenty of open mic nights, suitable venues and festivals offering so much enjoyment and reward through music. Andy has an open and solicitous approach to:

• understand your aims either as a beginner or an experienced guitar player
• help you make the most of the opportunities around you.

Andy tailors sessions to suit the individual which may involve scales, jamming, ear training, learning songs riffs, various guitar techniques and more.  Experienced guitar players know that it is not just about skill, the combination of how a guitar is set up, strings used, technique, how effects / amp are set, make all the difference to the sound, your confidence, ability to perform great music with the right feel.  

Andy’s coaching pays particular attention to these areas whether at home, your local jam night or a real live performance situation.  Andy’s aim is ensure that not only will you become a more accomplished guitarist but you can enjoy creating your own sound, feel and put personality into your playing. Sessions can also teach effective techniques for audio, video capture, editing, production to empower you to keep improving as well as help you promote your talent.

Fees – £30 per hour plus travelling expenses, including mp3 audio, video summary, links after each session to practice with.
