Guitars

andylizaitkenGibson ES 135 - The Babe, made when Gibson were between 135 ,137 ranges, unpopular as folks were unsure if they were Jazz, blues, rock or what guitar, but she has mahogany centreblock, no fholes, 57 humbuckers and so all she needed was faith in her. Honest, pure and natural. Hold her close, give her tenderness and she will let herself go with harmony and sweetness. She left a few years ago, to live with an Italian and soon her new owner could tell she was missing the applause, adulation so he very kindly sent her back home to me. I will always be grateful, will always play her at every gig and every time we play Stormy Monday Blues. Forgiveness, a gentle caress leads to her desire to be released. Here she is crying  “I’m trying to find my baby, send her back home to me”. Stormy Monday Blues style at milkwoodjam

0milk14Gibson Historic 59 – Miss Honeybella,  a year back Jim passed away, in 2009 Les Paul passed away,  it seemed Gibson to realised they had made the Les Paul guitar right in 59, so Miss Honeybella, left to me by Jim  is an exquisite guitar made real close to the original 59 les paul spec, very woody almost bassoon like quality to her tone. She sounds true to the original 59 Les Paul used by Peter Green. I like, that unlike, many of the Gibson historics her history is unwritten.  honeyxxxA song which fits her personality is “I loved another woman”. Peter Green
